10 Ways to Cut 100 Calories (without feeling like you're missing out)
Well it's that time of year when we seem to indulge a little bit more than usual! In today's video I'm going to give you some ideas on how you can reduce 100 calories. Reducing 100 calories per day can help you with losing 10 pounds of weight per year. So let's get started!
1) Run your burger through the garden. Instead of placing a one ounce slice of cheddar cheese on your sandwich add veggies - spinach, tomatoes, onions, and bell peppers.
2) Join the Leave it On Your Plate Club. Instead of being a member of the Clean Your Plate Club, leave three to four bites of food on your plate - it's okay!
3) Have your cupcake and eat it, too. Choose a cupcake instead of a slice of cake. Check out one of my most watched recipe videos on 90 calorie cupcakes.
4) Ditch the tartar sauce on your baked fish. Instead, swap it out with a lemon wedge.
5) Choose tuna packed in water instead of oil.
6) Conquer your chocolate craving. Savor two tablespoons of chocolate chips instead of a candy bar.
7) Make it a single burger instead of a double burger.
8) Southern tea turned Northern. If you like sweet tea make your own sweet tea by adding a sugar substitute to fresh brewed tea.
9) Choose a 6-8 ounce tortilla instead of a burrito size. Remember to compare the grams of carbs from one tortilla to another - they all are different with their packaging.
10) Pack your own lunch instead of going out to eat. You will save more than half the calories - a tuna sandwich on French bread with a small bag of chips and a no calorie beverage will cost you 780 calories, while your homemade lunch containing three ounces of tuna salad using light mayo and chopped celery on whole wheat pita and a side of baked chips will cost you only 364 calories.
Until next time, cheers to your health.
