The USDA’s MyPlate recently replaced MyPyramid as the “official” visual representation of a healthy diet. And, while MyPlate does give a better visual of a healthy diet than the pyramid (when did you last eat off of a pyramid?) neither is especially effective in representing a diabetes-friendly diet. In fact, our most crucial food…..carbohydrates…..are spread into every single one of the five MyPlate food groupings.
