Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) is technology that monitors blood sugar levels (actually infers blood glucose levels from levels in interstitial fluid) every few minutes, giving a continuous image of how levels rise and fall during the day. Some people with Type 1 diabetes wear a CGM routinely, and can monitor blood sugar levels any time. For most of us, CGM is a monitoring event over several days that our educator can review for patterns like nighttime low blood sugars.
In this video Toby discusses ways we evaluate blood glucose control, and documents her recent CGM event.
